Team building matters in Pop Epoch, and heroes also pay off outside battle: productivity, event points, and account-wide bonuses. Rating them on battle alone misses half the picture, so heroes are ranked three ways and then combined.
Tier lists
Each hero shows battle / utility / productivity. Heroes without a utility grade are SR or R and have no utility skill. D tier heroes are not graded.
How the tier list works
What a hero is good for
Battle power
How much the hero adds to a formation: damage, healing, shields, buffs, and debuffs.
Utility skill
An account-wide or event bonus. SR and R heroes do not have one.
Productivity
A production bonus for one resource, or for all of them with Universal Mastery.
What each star adds
Every star also adds +15 % stats.
- 1Productivity
- 2Utility skill
- 3Productivity
- 4Productivity
- 5Battle skill
SR and R heroes have no utility skill, so their second star adds stats only.

Before you use it
0 stars, no items, no skins
Every rating is for a hero at 0 stars, without items or skins. With their items, most UR and UR+ heroes move up a tier.
Investment still wins
A hero with more stars and levels beats a less invested one, even from a higher tier. Level for level and star for star, the higher rarity is always stronger.
Owning beats starring
Having a hero is worth more than two extra stars on a higher-tier one, for their utility and productivity. Level even R heroes a little for Cryptid Towers.
Builds beat tiers
A coherent build with some lower-tier heroes is stronger than scattered high-tier picks.
Joan of Arc
Joan of Arc changes rarity with your Immortal Epic progress, so she appears in more than one tier.

Reasons and changelog
Autumn’s notes on hard placements and on changes as new heroes release or the meta shifts.
- Added the first battle tier rankings.
- Lancelot is hard to place. By rights he belongs in S, because his skill needs a full DoT team or heavy debuffs to reach full effect, but most other builds carry plenty of debuffs anyway. It could go either way.
- King Arthur is hard to place too, somewhere between S and SS. Grail heroes buff him, so he is weaker early as a pure stat booster, but because the Grail heroes are flexible themselves, he moves up a tier.
- Utility tiers split event bonuses by value: “more valuable” events let you get more heroes and snowball faster, “less valuable” events do not. That makes routine event heroes a little odd to place.
- Added the reasons behind the combined tier list.
- Added Charlie Chaplin to the overall, battle, utility, and productivity lists; moved Cleopatra to S overall and A for utility.
