Hero leveling / fragment priorities

Which heroes to level and star first, with a separate focus list per Hero layouts build.

Created by Boah. Work the focus list from the top down for the Hero layouts build you are investing in. Crit is filled in from Boah’s list; other builds can be filled through the editor.

Focus by layout

Pick the build from Hero layouts. The rest of the roster is currently about the same in utility once these are covered.

Leveling focus

Go in chronological order from #1 downwards.

  1. #1 – #4

    S+ tier — UR / UR+ heroes

  2. #5 – #7

    Next UR / UR+

  3. #8 – #9

    Later UR+

Fragments

Spend shards in this order for the selected build.

  1. Step 1

    Unlocks first

  2. Step 2

    All UR fragments go to

  3. Step 3

All SSR fragments go to while UR+

  4. Step 4

When at UR, spread evenly between

Each hero at a glance

The same build, one row per hero: where they sit in the focus list and which fragment steps name them.

Level caps

The rest of the leveling guide sits with Cryptids in principle; until that page is written, use this order after the focus list:

  1. UR / UR+ heroesLevel200+
  2. SSR heroesLevel150Do not ascend — save rings for UR / UR+
  3. R and SR heroesLevel120–130

Then evenly upgrade them all from there, keeping the same distance apart.

Why Crit leads with Joan and Achilles

Boah set the Crit list this way because Achilles gets free red fragment drops from the campaign chest, and his Genie item also boosts ally crit — which is why the priority list is crit heroes. Joan is strong right now: her shards still drop from Expedition (at a lower rate than before), and she scales harder than Achilles level to level even at UR.

Crit remains the strongest of the three pure damage builds (Pursuit, DoT, Crit) for the vast majority of players as of September 2026, largely because Joan is that strong.

Focus and fragment order by Boah, shared on Discord, with Autumn’s addendum (Ice, S12) on 6 August 2026.

If you are free-to-play or extremely low spend, Achilles’ item is out of reach. In that case the priority list shifts slightly with what you pull from Soulcraft, and so do collections. Adjust the Crit list in the editor or pick another layout when its list is filled in.
